Zazai again bowls Afghanistan to win over Singapore


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan defeated Singapore in their second match in the ICC Asia Under-19 World Cup Qualifier in Singapore on Tuesday.

The 50-overs event between Afghanistan, Malaysia, Nepal and Singapore got under way on Monday.

Singapore, who won the toss and chose to bat first, could not stay at the crease for long due to fierce bowling from the Afghans and were bundled out for just 92 in 26 overs.

For Afghanistan, Yousaf Zazai clinched five wickets, Naveen-ul-Haq three and Zahir Khan two wickets.

The Afghans chased the target in the 17th over and won the match by seven wickets, with 198 balls remaining. Naveed Obaid scored 30, Imran Mohammadi 27 and Tariq hit 25 runs.

Yousaf Zazai was declared the man of the match for taking five wickets. Afghanistan will take on the Nepalese in the third match on Jul 20.
