Qatar- Vodafone network is still down company promises compensation
Doha: Vodafone Qatar, an affiliate of Vodafone Group, said on Tuesday that despite working throughout the night their network is still down and the company has promised to announce a compensation plan to the customers, once the network is restored.
'A compensation plan will be announced within 24 hours of restoration. The whole Vodafone organization is committed to regaining customer trust and satisfaction, they tweeted.
The network is down from last morning.
'Dear Customers, despite all our teams working throughout the night, our network is still not recovered. We are continuing to work tirelessly to solve a technical issue triggered by a routine upgrade as part of our network modernization programme, the company said.
Yesterday morning there was very little communication from the company and many irked users had taken to social media with their frustration with funny memes. Lack of communication also led to wild rumours on social media.
Hey . I have an idea - why don't you switch the network off then on again? Works for me...

Today they have promised more communication from their side. 'We apologise for yesterday's brief communication. This was due to rapidly unfolding events. We are deploying a full communication plan and intend on keeping you updated on an hourly basis. Please bear with us through this period, they tweeted.
By evening on Monday the company had tweeted that some 2g service is restored and few users informed The Peninsula that they are getting the network. But this didn't last long as the 2g service went down again after sometime.
The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) announced yesterday that it has launched a full investigation into the interruption of Vodafone Qatar's network services, which led to the interruption of voice calls and data use services for customers.
The authority said in a press statement that the interruption began at 3:30am on Monday.
