Trucks banned from using certain routes in Dhofar, says MoTC

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Truck drivers have been banned from using roads leading to the western parts of Dhofar as well as the Sarfeet border exit due to poor visibility, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC).

In a statement, the ministry said that dense fog affects movement of vehicles in the Dhofar governorate particularly during the khareef season.

In cooperation with the ROP, the new rule is in force since Monday and will stay until the end of the season.

MoTC has said that fuel tankers, petroleum product trucks and food supply trucks (3-7 tonnes) are exempted from this new rule.

Trucks heading to Yemen are allowed to take the Al Mazyouna transport border exit road instead, it said.
