MAAN —AlGhad— Protestors blocked several main and service roads in the Jafr district of Maan, the South Jordanian governorate, in protest over the sentencing of the soldier, Maarek Abu Tayeh, to a life of hard labour in prison.

Last year, Abu Tayeh shot three US soldiers at the gates of the Prince Faisal Airbase.

Meanwhile, residents of the district erected a demonstration tent to express their refusal of ruling, police sources confirm, as security forces condense their presence.
