Kuwaiti official stresses Kuwaiti, Jordanian academic ties


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, July 17 (KUNA) -- Head of the National Bureau for Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance Dr. Nouria Al-Awadhi said on Monday that the academic cooperation between Kuwait and Jordan is strong and solid.

Al-Awadhi made her remarks to KUNA during a meeting with heads of the Jordanian universities organized by the Kuwaiti embassy in Jordan with the presence of Kuwait's Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Hamad Al-Duaij.

She added that there are about 4,000 Kuwaiti students studying in various official and private universities in Jordan.

She pointed out that Jordan has about 800 Kuwaiti students studying various fields of medicine, expressing her pride of Jordanian academic institutions for providing Kuwaiti students with academic education and developing their abilities.

On her visit to Jordan, Al-Awadhi said that she is heading a Kuwaiti academic delegation to Jordan to meet with the heads of Jordanian universities and open new horizons of cooperation between Kuwait and the Jordanian academic institutions.

For his part, Jordanian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Adel Al-Twaisi praised the academic cooperation between Jordan and Kuwait and its role in enhancing brotherly relations between the two countries to serve mutual interests.

Meanwhile, Kuwait's ambassador to Jordan, Dr. Hamad Al-Duaij, stressed the importance of Kuwaiti-Jordanian academic cooperation and its role in achieving scientific, cultural and economic relations that benefited the two nations, praising the academic level of Jordanian universities. (end) ab.haq
