(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) KHYBER AGENCY, 15: Residents of Mulagori area of the Khyber Agency on Saturday asked the federal government to take them in confidence before launching the construction work on Blanda Dam.
As per details, a jirga of local elders, attended by Haji Abdul Manan, Malik Ochat Khan and other elders, asked the federal government that they sacrificed their valuable properties for the sake of Blanda Dam. They said that all the preparation of starting construction work on Blanda Dam has been finalized. But the owners of the land yet to be compensated. They said that no concrete steps had been taken to address their issues of compensation, electricity to the area and jobs. It is unclear whether government will provide jobs, electricity to locals or not at the plant.
The federal government had approved Rs 7.2 billion for the construction of Blanda Dam which will produce 51 megawatts.
