(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Rabat – Minister of Education, Mohammed Hassad, visited several schools and vocational training centres in Al Hoceima on Friday, as part of the build up to the 2017-18 academic year.
In the video, Hassad states that the upcoming school year will take place "under very good conditions," adding that similar visits will be taken in other provinces with the "same aim" of checking on the educational establishments.
Secretary General of Vocational Training, El Arbi Ben Cheikh, joined the minister, saying "professional training has witnessed an exceptional development in Al Hoceima, unlike in other cities."
The in October 2016 provoked widespread protests in the Rif region. Demonstrators have called for a range of socio-economic demands, including building higher education facilities and creating job opportunities for local youth.
