Qatar- Jassim Foundation gives QR12.7m in social aid

Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Foundation has announced the disbursement of QR12.7m as social assistance to needy families and individuals in Qatar during the first half of this year.
The disbursement included monthly supplies and cash assistance, health guarantees, payment of debts, payment of tuition fees and marriage assistance, as well as support for cultural, social and educational activities.
The Director of the Charity operations at the Foundation, Aisha Al Sulaiti, said that the Foundation's officials give great interest to internal projects. Al Sulaiti pointed out that the expenses of the Foundation on the internal projects amounted to QR12. 7m and included cash and supply assistance to support the needy families which amounted to QR1.3m, as well as repaying the debts of 11 cases (QR1.200.000).
Al Sulaiti explained that the assistance provided by the Foundation in the field of education amounted to QR1,250,000, divided between the support provided to Qatar University students in the exchange programme supported by the Foundation, and providing educational equipment for a large number of students as well as the payment of tuition fees for all educational and universities levels. The Foundation has spent QR760,000 to assist in treatments and QR 900,000 for to social responsibility through partnership with various institutions in the country.
