Barely Legal Distilling, LLC. BLD is a seed to bottle Micro Distillery in the permitting stage, locating in Southeast Nebraska

(MENAFNEditorial) iCrowdNewswire - Jul 13, 2017 Barely Legal Distilling, LLC. BLD is a "seed to bottle" Micro Distillery in the permitting stage, locating in Southeast Nebraska Barely Legal Distilling is a Micro Distillery entering Federal licensing and making its home in a rural Southeast Nebraska community. Tasted, requested and approved by celebrities and a modern day country music superstar, we have a passion for creating the best tasting corn whiskey, hard cider, vodka & moonshine money can buy. We value hard work, community and friendships. Our goal at BLD is to create a vibrant, local distillery that provides enjoyment for our friends for generations to come. Welcome to BLD Nation!

Barely Legal Distilling, LLC is comprised of Danny Petersen, Bill Krejci, and Mark Korsakas. As a startup company, we are employing strategies for low cost facilities and equipment to begin our operations. Our initial production size will be determined by the amount and terms of our crowdfunding efforts and we will grow from there. We will be producing beverages flavored with real fruit at two alcohol levels; a 69 proof corn whiskey & 23 proof cider. We will also produce a 115 proof clear moonshine called 'White Tornado & a premium vodka. In pursuing this goal, BLD has been looking for a community we can call home. The rural towns of Exeter and Seward in Southeast Nebraska hold a lot of appeal. All three of us either grew up in that general area and have family ties there. While spending a lot of time in these rural communities over the years, the prospect of coming back and launching our new business near home is very exciting. It's incredible how much talent you can find where you grew up and BLD would reap the benefits of that human resource as we grow into the future and help us be a fun & rewarding place to work.

The ability to produce a top quality, premium product has taken some time. Danny formed BLD in January of 2014 and started accumulating equipment for a distillery on his family farm west of Cordova, NE. In the spring of 2014, Mother Nature had other ideas and on Mother's Day, a tornado destroyed the entire family farm and all traces of BLD's future distillery. Danny didn't give up on BLD and kept developing and perfecting new flavors. In 2016, he renewed his effort and decided to put together a team that would give BLD a wealth of diverse experience and energy.

Last fall, we began actively testing our flavors at Husker tailgates, concerts, and trips to the Ozarks, Texas, Indiana, Colorado, Oklahoma and many other places giving out thousands of samples while gathering important feedback and ideas from our future customers. We know that we have great tasting recipes that are unique and well liked. It's now time to go into production.

The micro distillery industry is poised to have a growth explosion just as the microbrewery business has over the last 15 years. BLD is on course as an early entry into this industry. Federal licensing is very time consuming, but by accomplishing this early, will face less competition and achieve much faster growth. We are currently looking at buildings in the community of Seward for our micro distillery. This means we can accelerate our time table to initial production and have a retail location in a much shorter time frame. This is very exciting, not only for us, but for you, the BLD Nation who have been patiently waiting for that first taste of our product.

Looking for a potential home for a our cider production has been a challenge but we've found a building in Exeter that is currently for sale along with a historic auditorium that was built in the early 1900's. In it's early days the auditorium was used as a theatre. The first "silent picture show" took place in 1908. Soon thereafter a fire gutted the inside of the building but it was rebuilt quickly with improvements. Over the years it was used for weddings and current bands of the day and a community event hall. At one point it was used for grain storage and then as a company warehouse. It is in disrepair at this time but BLD would like the chance to restore it to its early 1900's glory.

These buildingswould be used as a cider production facility that would include a tasting room. This willindeed be an undertaking but we are positive the local community would be very excited and supportive of bringing the auditorium back to life.
