UAE- Road works to ease traffic woes in Sharjah


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) Sharjah, in a bid to boost road performance and traffic flow, is to start maintaining the Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi road between Ghubeiba and Samnan areas.

The maintenance works, worth Dh1.8 million, are to be done from July 15 to August 18, according to informed sources.

"The road repairs are to be initiated opposite the Ghubeiba area for those heading from the Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr intersection to the Ali bin Salem Al Mazrouie square from July 15 to July 31."

The maintenance works are to kick off opposite the Samnan area for those heading from the Ali bin Salem Al Mazrouie square to the Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi intersection.

"The road repairs on this batch of the road will be done from August 01 to August 18," they said.

"The due works are to include the reconstruction of the damaged pavement and remarking of the road."

The development road works, meant to enhance public safety and security, are in line with the directions of His Highness Dr. Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, Eng. Al Hajiri said.

"The road development, being done as per the highest international standards, will give a boost to the performance of the road and the entire road network of the emirate for the benefit of the public."
