(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) University of West London officially announced the soft launch of its branch campus in Academic Zone, RAKEZ, on July 11.
University of West London is one of the prestigious Universities in UK with a heritage of 150 years in teaching and professional education.
First founded as the Lady Byron School in 1860, the institution as it exists today was originally formed from the merger of Ealing College of Higher Education, Thames valley college of Higher Education, The London College of Music and Queen Charlotte's College of Health Care Studies. Initially it was Thames Valley University later rebranded as University of West London.
The University is home to a number of academic schools offering courses in a diverse range of subjects.
The schools are: London School of Film, Media and Design; The Claude Littner Business School; School of Computing and Engineering; London Geller College of Hospitality and Tourism; School of Law and Criminology; London School of Music; College of Nursing, Midwifery and Heath Care; and School of Psychology, Social Care and Human Sciences.
In 2009 the University awarded the prestigious Queen's Anniversary Prize for outstanding achievement and excellence in hospitality education from Her Majesty the Queen as a recognition of the quality of its teaching profession.
The Business School in the University coming under Claude Littner Business School which is one of the Top 10 Business Schools in UK and the University is one of the Top 10 in placement in UK. The University of West London has one of the best employment rates in the country with 97.1 per cent of students in work within six months of Graduating. These are the latest figures according to Employment Performance Indicators (EPI) released by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) in 2017.
The University is offering MBA programme (Full time and Part time), MSc Finance and Accounting, BA (Hons) in Business Studies, BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance, BA (Hons) Travel and Tourism Management in the first academic year.
In the second phase at the proposed built in Campus, the University could offer more courses on Tourism Sector, Airline Management, Courses from Eailing Law School, Engineering, Computing and the courses from London School of Film, Media and Design & London School of Music.
This is going to be the single branch campus of University of West London in the Middle East Region and Africa and second top ranking UK University operating in UAE as the Branch Campus.
