ABU DHABI, 14th July, 2017 (WAM) -- The United Arab Emirates, UAE, has strongly condemned a terrorist attack that targeted a security checkpoint in Giza Governorate, Egypt, where scores of policemen were killed.

'While vehemently condemning these criminal acts and constantly and principally rejecting all forms of violence and terrorism, the UAE affirms its solid solidarity with the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, in the face of these dangerous crimes," said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in a statement on Friday.

'These cowardly terrorist acts will never weaken the will of the Egyptian people and its persistence to continue to stand firm against terrorism, which knows no nation, religion or ethics. This reprehensive act contradicts humanitarian and religious principles and values,' the statement stressed.

The ministry expressed its condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and the people of Egypt.
