Russia military advisor killed in Syria


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MOSCOW, July 11 (KUNA) -- A Russian military Advisor has been killed in Syria, Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

Russian news agency (Interfax) quoted ministry sources as saying the advisor, whose name nor rank were disclosed, was killed after shelling by Syrian government forces in Homat province.

The sources added the Russian was training Syrian government forces.

Since 2015, Russia dispatched forces to Syria in efforts to combat terrorists groups, which resulted in killing 18 Russian soldiers, among them three pilots. (end) as.mb
