Oman- H E Mehrzi to attend opening ceremony of Souq Okaz in Saudi


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- H E Ahmed bin Nasser bin Hamad al Mehrzi, Minister of Tourism will take part in the opening ceremony of Souq Okaz that is going to be held in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.

H E Mehrzi will be attending the opening ceremony at the invitation of Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, president of Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage.

Famous for its rich culture, heritage and literary aspects Souq Okaz is also known as the 'market of poets' and is a unique tourism destination in Saudi Arabia.

A number of events and competitions in the fields of literature, arts, social and human sciences, that serve as a common ground for people interested in poetry, short stories, Arabic calligraphy, photography, innovation, folk and fine art, theatre and entrepreneurship will be held at Souq Okaz.

In its 11th edition, the souq has more than 100 events that portray its cultural background, including poetry and literature presentations, theatrical shows, seminars, cultural evenings, workshops to name a few. Also, what uniquely distinguishes Souq Okaz is the fact that it is a historic tourism destination that brings together both tourists and visitors interested in literature and arts while also bringing back to life traditional arts.
