Jordan- Heatwave expected to subside over weekend


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, July 12 (Petra)-- The Kingdom,on Wednesday, will remain under the impact of the heatwave that brought hot and dry weather pushing temperatures 5-7 degrees above their annual average, hitting their upper thirties in most regions, and soaring to 41 degrees in Aqaba .

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), mercury levels will cool down at night dropping to 25 degrees Celsius in Amman and sliding to 29 in Aqaba.

A drop in mercury levels is forecast over the weekend, as the heatwave that affected the country over the past three days is expected to gradually ease off as Thursday, the JMD said, adding that temperatures forecast to remain 3-4 degrees above their seasonal average creating relatively hot conditions across much of the country.
