Qatar vows supportto people of Gaza
The Chairman of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, ambassador Mohamed al-Emadi, affirmed that Qatar will not abandon its established principles, including the support of the Palestinian people, particularly the population of the Gaza, in light of the siege imposed on the Strip. At a press conference attended by Nikolay Mladenov, the UN special envoy to Middle East, al-Emadi said that his visit to Gaza aims to affirm to Palestinian people that 'We are staying here to finish projects and implement new ones and to fulfil the commitments made by the State of Qatar in previous conferences. He said that Qatar's policy is to support peoples and governments. 'Doha supports Hamas because it is a component of the Palestinian people, just like Fatah, he added.

NHRC to hold forum onfreedom of expression
The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) in collaboration with the International Federation for the Protection of Journalists, will organise an international conference entitled 'Freedom of Expression: Towards Confronting Risk on July 24-25. The holding of this conference comes out of keenness to support and promote the freedom of opinion and freedom of expression as well as access to and exchange of information and to confront challenges that face these freedoms and rights including traditional and modern challenges. The conference aims to examine ways of activating international human rights law, instruments and procedures related to freedom of opinion and expression, access to information and addressing the problems and challenges related to international human rights law introduced by modern communications technologies.
