(MENAFN) After G20 summit, official data showed that Germany's trade surplus had expanded in May.
According to federal statistics office Destatis, the largest economy in Europe posted growth at 1.4% comparing to April, to reach USD123.02bln.
As imports gained 1.2% to 87.6bln euros, trade surplus in Germany increased to 20.3bln euros in May comparing to 19.7bln in April.
Earlier in 2016, the trade surplus had reached around 250bln euros during the full year, as the surplus is the main source of tension between Germany and close allies, US and the European Union.
