OIC chief congratulates Iraq on Mosul victory


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, July 10 (KUNA) -- The Secretary General of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Yousef Bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen congratulated on Monday Iraq on the liberation of Mosul city which was controlled by the so-called Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization, reiterating support for Iraqi government in the war against terrorism.

In a press release, Al-Othaimeen reaffirmed OIC's commitment to coordination with the Iraqi government to hold Makkah 2 conference as part of efforts to restore security and stability in Iraq.

Earlier, Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Al-Abadi, flanked by senior military commanders in Mosul, announced victory over IS in Mosul, the last major city liberated from the terrorist group. (end) nsa.mb
