Kuwait- Probe underway as bedoun dies in home fire


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, July 9: The remains of a bedoun, who died when a fire broke out on the second floor of a residential apartment in Ahmadi, have been referred to Forensics to identify the cause of death, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily quoting fire sources said the bedoun was rushed to a hospital but he was declared dead upon arrival. The authorities are identifying the cause of fire to ascertain if it is a case of arson. Meanwhile, Customs officers at the Doha port recently foiled an attempt to smuggle large quantities of swords (samurai) of various sizes, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The swords were reportedly hidden inside a consignment of lemon, soap and bread and were shipped from Iran. The swords have been seized and the concerned people have been referred to the competent authorities.

Lawyer abused: A Kuwaiti lady lawyer filed a complaint against a male client alleged to have sent SMS deemed offensive to her, says Al-Seyassah. The lawyer said the Kuwaiti client abused her via SMS, and she provided his details to the police. A case was registered against him. Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen filed a complaint with officers at the Jabriya Police Station and accused a Lebanese man of cheating, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The citizen said the accused convinced him to be his partner in a commercial venture and disappeared with KD 32,000 cash. He provided details of the accused for investigation, and a case was registered against him.
