Inflation rate in Tunisia hits 4.8pct


(MENAFN) The inflation rate in Tunisia stabilized at 4.8 percent in June this year, as exposed data by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Furthermore, the stabilization is due to the maintenance of the prices increase pace between April and June of the recent year and the same period of 2016.

Accordingly, the inflation rate is due to the 3.9 percent increase in the prices of the food and beverage group made by the increase in the prices of edible oils 17.3 percent.

Meanwhile, prices of beverages which jumped by 4.4 percent as a result of the 6 percent increase in the mineral water, soft drinks and fruit juices prices.
