CAIRO, 9th July, 2017 (WAM) -- President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, met on Sunday with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and discussed ways to push the peace process forward in light of Israel's continuing settlement activities.
During the meeting, which was held at the Heliopolis Palace in Cairo, both presidents discussed the latest developments in Palestine and the Israeli government's practices and policies, most notably settlement construction and expansion, which is a major obstacle to security and stability in the region, the Wafa News Agency reported.
President Abbas expressed his deep condolences to the people and leadership of Egypt to the victims of Friday's attack on a security checkpoint in Rafah, north of Sinai, stressing that Palestine stands with Egypt in its fight against terrorism.
