China's FAW will recall 680,000 Mazda cars

(MENAFN) China's FAW Car Co Ltd announced it will recall around 680,000 Mazda vehicles over problems with airbags which were supplied by Japanese auto parts supplier Takata Corp.

China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine confirmed the partner of Japan's Mazda Motor Corp. will recall Mazda 6 vehicles that were manufactured in China in the period between 2008 and 2016.

Also it said that issues are related to dangerous defects in the airbag inflator on the passenger side, and it follows an earlier recall of 280,000 Mazda 5 models for similar issues.

However, the problem of airbags is related to nearly 16 deaths and 180 injuries.
