Hot air mass forecast to affect Jordan on Sunday


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, July 8 (Petra) -- A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Saturday, but they will remain around their seasonal average, bringing normal conditions in the hilly areas, while it will be hot in other parts of the country.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman and the northern regions will reach 33 degrees Celsius, jumping to 36 in the southern cities. Mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will hit 40 degrees during daytime and sliding to 28 at night.

A relatively hot air mass will start affecting the Kingdom on Sunday and continue until Monday, pushing temperatures 4-6 degrees above their annual average and creating relatively hot weather in Amman and the hilly areas and hot conditions in other parts of the country, the JMD added.
