Home internet prices in Egypt to grow by 4pct

(MENAFN) Egypt will view an increase of 4 percent in home internet (ADSL) bills, starting Sep, as proclaimed a source in the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Info Tech.

Furthermore, the growth will come as a result of the newly imposed VAT, which will replace the 10 percent sales tax with a 14 percent tax.

Additionally, another increase of 1 percent is projected for landline telephone bills, as the VAT law grew the tax from 13 percent to 14 percent.

Accordingly, there have not been any other hikes on internet bills or mobile phones recharge cards.
