Banking sector in Qatar jumps by 10pct in May
(MENAFN) A double-digit increase in public sector and general trade"s credit off-take supported Qatar"s banking industry record almost 10 percent growth year on year to QR881.52bn in May.
Additionally, credit to the country's public sector saw a surprising 16.32 percent increase to QR327.78bn due to robust expansion of credit to the government sector.
Moreover, total domestic credit increased 9.9 percent to QR784.98bn, which was 89 percent of the total credit in Qatar's banking system.
