Kuwait- Swarming of jelly fish seen at inlet of water coolers

(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, July 2: Assistant Undersecretary for South Al-Zour Water Station and Distillation Plant affiliated to the Ministry of Electricity and Water Engineer Fouad Al-Oun confirmed the swarming of jelly fish at the inlet of the water coolers in Al- Zour Station over the past three days.

In a statement, Engineer Al- Oun said the phenomenon is usually witnessed once a year when temperature increases at sea. However, the quantity of jelly fish invading the inlet this time around exceeds previous years' and poses great risk to the propeller stirrer that filters sea organisms and prevents them from entering the distillers, indicating the wave of jellyfish may reduce functioning of the coolers.
