Kuwait- Two tons expired foodstuff seized


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Municipality inspectors from the Capital seize foodstuff at a store in Al-Rai

KUWAIT CITY, July 2: The Kuwait Municipality branch in the Capital Governorate launched an inspection campaign targeting stores in Al-Rai, resulting in the confiscation of two tons of expired foodstuff. In a press statement, Head of the Violations Removal Section in the branch Eng Abdullah Jaber disclosed the shift B inspectors seized and disposed two tons of expired food items during the campaign.

The inspectors also issued 49 citations — 29 for nutritionrelated violations and 20 for other violations including nonrenewal of license and failure to display the license in a conspicuous area, in addition to the closure of stores whose owners committed certain violations. Jaber appealed to the owners of stores and restaurants to strictly comply with the rules and regulations of the Municipality. He also confirmed continuation of inspection campaigns to uncover violations and take legal action against those proven to have violated regulations.
