Indian minister accuses cricket team of fixing match against Pakistan

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR, 2 July: An Indian minister has accused Indian cricket team of fixing the final match of International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy against Pakistan and demanded inquiry in this regard.

Ramdas Athawale, the minister, told Indian media that he is extremely surprised over the performance of Indian team in the final match against Pakistan. He said Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh, who scored in every match of the event, were batting in the final in a manner as if they were playing for losing the match. He said it seems the match was fixed and thorough investigations should be conducted into it.

Mr Athawale said the Indian team surrendered before the Pakistani team in the final and let down the whole nation.

Pakistan had defeated India in the final of ICC Champions Trophy by 180 runs, the biggest margin in ICC finals.
