(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Middle East College (MEC) has recently entered into an academic collaboration with NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands in a ceremony held in its campus.
The agreement was signed by Lefeer Muhamed, managing director MEC, and Hein Van Oorschot, president of the Executive Board, NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences. The partnership allows MEC to offer programmes in Logistics in affiliation with NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences after completing the mandatory programme approvals required in the sultanate.
Dean of MEC, Dr Kiran, said, 'MEC has always given the highest priority to aligning its contributions with the country's strategic directions. The logistics sector plays a key role in Oman's economic growth and overall development. Having identified this requirement, an academic collaboration was established with the most appropriate partner, NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands. We are confident that this partnership will take us forward in developing the logistics field in the sultanate. We would also like to thank the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), Oman and Oman Global Logistics Group (Asyad) for their continuous support in making this venture possible.'
NHTV Breda is an international university of applied sciences with about 7,700 students from over 60 countries. It offers both professional and academic Bachelor's as well as Master's programmes in the areas of Logistics, Tourism and Leisure, Built Environment, Games and Media, Hotel Management and Facility Management. The university is one of the highly ranked universities in the Netherlands which has acclaimed many awards of excellence. It was rated as the best specialist university in Netherlands by Elsevier in 2015 and was awarded as the best university of applied sciences award in 2015 Keuzegids HBO ranking, which is an independent yearly academic ranking guide in the Netherlands.
MEC has ventured into partnerships with universities from across the globe to encourage its student community to interact with the world at large.
