(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW YORK, June 30 (KUNA) -- NYPD officials said on Friday that the shooter, and ex Doctor at Bronx Lebanon Hospital died after shooting seven employees, and killing one of them.
According to NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill the shooter, Henry Bello, 45, was found dead sprawled out on a hospital hallway from a self-inflicted gunshot wound with the victim he killed nearby.
O'Neil confirmed that the shooter shot seven employees, killing one of them.
In a press conference, the New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said confirmed that the ex-medical worker, who was let go from the hospital, has returned to his former workplace, opened fire on others and then killed himself.
"As you know, the shooter killed himself but not before having done horrible damage," he said.
Mayor de Blasio said the shooting was not an act of terrorism, but rather workplace-related, describing the attack to be a "horrific situation in the middle of a place that people associate with care and comfort."
