Jordan- King performs eid prayer


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah performed the eid prayer at the Hashmiya Mosque last Sunday, the first day of Eid Al Fitr, the Muslim feast marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, according to a Royal Court statement.

The King listened to a sermon delivered by Royal Court Imam Ghaleb Rababah, in which he highlighted the value of Islamic principles that call for love, unity, moderation and tolerance, among others.

Upon his arrival at the mosque, King Abdullah was received by several Royal family members as well as senior officials and officers.

Later in the day, His Majesty received Royal family members, former prime ministers, MPs, senior civil and military officials and officers, Muslim and Christian figures and dignitaries from all the Kingdom's governorates at Al Husseiniya Palace, who greeted the King on the occasion of eid.

The King on Sunday left the Kingdom on a private visit to the US, according to a Royal Court statement.
