Israel's Mossad set up new fund for latest spy methods


(MENAFN) Israel's intelligence agency, Mossad, sets up a fund to help developing new spy techniques and is offers grants up to 2 million shekels (about USD570,000) for each project to bring in new ideas.

According to the government, the Mossad is seeking technologies in varoups fields, including robotics and encryption as well as new automated methods of gleaning information from documents and new ways to carry out operations more secretly.

The new fund which is called Libertad said that it will give grants up to 2 million shekels for each project in exchange for non-exclusive rights to the technology.

And it said: "The Mossad wants to encourage innovation and creation of groundbreaking technology ... the technology developed will be implemented by us, in cooperation between the parties."
