SHARJAH, 28th June, 2017 (WAM) -- Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation, SWSF, has added a host of new sporting, entertainment and education activities as part of its annual Summer Camp taking place from 2nd July to 31st August to enable schoolchildren to make the most of the summer break.

Among the additional elements, the youngsters will be able to learn taekwondo and equestrianism as well as the traditional sports activities under the supervision of highly qualified experts and coaches, and can also take part in a series of applied Arabic language workshops using the latest cutting-edge technology, designed to connect children with the basics of their mother tongue and nurture a love of their language.

There is also a workshop entitled ‘Our Children Are Safe Online', which will be conducted in collaboration with the Child Safety Campaign, an initiative of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs which aims to protect children from potential dangers while browsing the Internet.

Nada Askar Al Naqbi, Director-General of SWSF, said, "Our prime goal in organising this camp is to create a learning and entertainment environment for the children through a series of creative and practical skills. It is far more than an event that lasts for one summer, this camp provides the building blocks into new ways of thinking and hands-on experience that will benefit the children throughout their lives."

Taking place from Sunday-Thursday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., the camp will enable boys and girls to enjoy a remarkable diversity of options and entertainment, tailored to suit different ages and preferences. The camp will feature entertainment programmes and external trips to some of Sharjah's most impressive archaeological sites and tourist landmarks. The participating children will also be offered a series of cultural programmes to help them gain valuable insights into their heritage.
