LinkedIn's China chief is leaving company

(MENAFN- Asia Times)

Derek Shen, LinkedIn's president for China who led the company's controversial entry into the country, will leave at the end of this month, according to a spokesperson.

The report from TechCrunch says there's no immediate replacement for Shen. But Francis Tang, LinkedIn's head of international engineering will act as interim president.

LinkedIn has been criticized for agreeing to censor its China-based users under a partnership with Sequoia China. TechCrunch says content from China-based users that's deemed unsuitable is blocked inside the country. Only site users who are living overseas can access this content.
