(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TOKYO, June 26 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's crude oil exports to China in the first five months of this year grew 5.6 percent from the same period of 2016 to 326,000 barrels per day (bpd), government data showed.
In May alone, Kuwait exported 318,000 bpd to the world's second-largest oil consumer, down 7.4 percent on the year, according to the General Administration of Customs.
Kuwaiti shipments of crude oil to China exceeded 300,000 bpd level for the third month in a row, it said.
China's overall imports of crude oil in May grew 15.4 percent from a year earlier to 8.8 million bpd.
Russia remained China's top supplier, with its shipments growing 9.4 percent on the year to 1.36 million bpd, followed by Angola with 1.32 million bpd, up 79.2 percent.
Saudi Arabia became third, with imports from the kingdom increasing 8.6 percent to 1.0 million bpd. Oman ranked fourth and Iran fifth, respectively. (end) mk.ss
