(MENAFN) Top quality watchdog in China reported that Hyundai Motor is planning to recall 43,764 vehicles over a defect that might lead to potential engine failure.
Accordingly, the affected vehicles are Santa Fe models with 2.4-liter Theta GDI engines produced between Nov. 29, 2012 and May 31, 2013, in addition to Theta GDI engines manufactured between Nov. 29, 2012 and Nov. 30, 2013.
The automaker said the recall will address manufacturing flaw that leaves debris in some engines, restricting oil flow and causing engine failure.
However, they intend to replace faulty engines free of charge, starting from July.
