Qatar- Eid Al Fitr to be celebrated tomorrow (Sunday)

The Moon Sighting Committee of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has announced that tomorrow, Sunday, June 25, 2017 is the first day of the blessed Eid al-Fitr in Qatar.

The Moon Sighting Committee held its meeting on Saturday evening, Ramadan 29, 1438 AH, corresponding to June 24, 2017 to sight the crescent of Shawwal month, and prove the testimony of who sees it .The Committee said the moon sighting was confirmed tonight. The Committee announced that tomorrow, Sunday, June 25, 2017 is the first day of the blessed Eid al-Fitr, the Committee said in a statement.

"The Committee extends greetings on the occasion of advent of the blessed Eid Al Fitr to the H H Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani, as well as the honorable government, the people of Qatar and all Muslims. We ask Almighty Allah to return this occasion to everyone with good and blessing."

Eid Al Fitr prayer in Qatar will be held at 5am just 15 minutes after sunrise, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs had announced earlier.

The Ministry has posted lists of hundreds of mosques and prayer-grounds on its Twitter account that were prepared to hold Eid Al Fitr prayers across the country.

Six mosques and prayers grounds have been prepared for holding Eid Al Fitr Prayer in the Industrial Area. They are prayer ground at Labor City Doha, Abu Huraira Mosque No. 677, Mosque of Peninsula Company for Engineering No. 291, Mosque of Ghanam bin Ali Group of Company at the Street No. 32, Mosque of Khalid Industries No. 209 at the street No. 41 and Mosque No. 1095.

A number of mosques and prayer grounds with separate spaces for women prayers have been also prepared. They are prayer ground besides the Mosque No. 1098 at Muaithir (south), Mosque of Muaithir No. 26, Mosque of Al Murrah (West ) at Al Murra, Eid Prayer ground besides mosque No. 663 at Murra (East), Eid Prayer Ground besides Mosque No. 1278 at Ain Khalid, prayer ground opposite Khalifa International Stadium at Al Aziziya, Eid Prayer Ground besides Mosque No. 977 at Al Muraikh and Al Sad Sports Club among many others.
