Kuwait- MoI allays fears on 'black' traffic cameras

(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, June 24: Fifty black cameras which have been installed by the General Traffic Department along ring roads and some expressways have aroused the concern of motorists.

The motorists are of the opinion that these cameras may be taking pictures of the man behind the wheel if he/she is using cell phones while driving, reckless driving and not wearing the seatbelt. However, a traffic source has poured cold water over such rumors.

The source said the black cameras record three violations — exceeding the speed limit in both directions, driving on the shoulders of the road during unspecified hours and taking pictures of the trucks which do not comply with the speed limit and driving during non-specified hours.
