Mitsubishi, Sumitomo ink Tunisia power project deal


(MENAFN) Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems and Sumitomo Corp. inks an engineering and construction deal with Societe Tunisienne for a gas-fired combined cycle power plant in Tunisia.

Moreover, the power plant will adopt gas turbine combined cycle generation, which is efficient with less greenhouse gases and plans to start gas turbine basic operation in May 2019.

In addition, the project cost is almost USD343mn, which is being financed by the Japanese Official Development Assistant organized by the Japan Intl Co-op Agency.

Meanwhile, Sumitomo Corp. will offer balance of plant and undertake civil and installation work, whereas MHPS will offer a M701F gas turbine.
