Kuwait- Govt staff face 7 years in prison for faking sick leave, presence


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, June 21: The Criminal Investigation Department has taken an unprecedented step and assigned securitymen at some government services agencies to monitor employees, and report those who are found to be negligent and lazy in performing their duties, reports Al- Qabas daily.

According to reliable sources 600 employees have recently been referred to the Public Prosecution on charges of forgery and manipulation in sick leaves certificates and manipulating with the fingerprinting system. If they are found guilty, they face up to seven years imprisonment.
