US Intel signs sponsorship deal for Olympics


(MENAFN) The American semiconductor manufacturing company, Intel Corp. said it will become major sponsor of the International Olympic Committee, which made its put marketing dollars behind the global sporting event.

The deal will continue until 2024, after McDonald's Corp retreated of its sponsorship deal before three years.

IOC sources confirmed that major sponsors pay about USD100mln per four-year cycle, although no financial terms were disclosed.

IOC President Thomas Bach and Chief Executive Officer said Intel's sponsorship will open up new experiences for athletes, fans and spectators in emerging areas such as virtual reality.
