A bus fare hike has been given cabinet approval, Transport Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said today.
He said the approval for a 6.28% bus fare hike was given when cabinet met today and the fare hike will take effect from July 1 this year.
The Minister said that with the bus fare hike the minimum fare of Rs. 9 will be increased by Rs. 1 and the new fares will be applicable to private and Government buses. (Colombo Gazette)
