By Rufiz Hafizoglu – Trend:

The planned visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu to Qatar can undoubtedly positively affect the settlement of the Qatar crisis, Mesut Ozcan, a foreign policy expert, told Trend June 14.

He said Kuwait is currently the main mediator in solving the Qatar crisis.

'But it is unlikely that this crisis will be resolved through the efforts of one mediator only, so participation of several mediators is necessary,' Ozcan said.

'Each side - both Kuwait and Turkey - can play its role in the settlement of the Qatar crisis,' he added.

Earlier it was reported that Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will visit Qatar on June 14. Cavusoglu will also visit Saudi Arabia following his visit to Qatar.

Cavusoglu will meet with Qatar's officials and discuss the situation in the region.

Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE announced about breaking their diplomatic relations with Qatar June 5, accusing Doha of supporting terrorist organizations and destabilizing the situation in the Middle East.

Later, the authorities of Libya, Yemen, as well as the Maldives and Mauritius also announced about severing diplomatic relations with Qatar.
