Philips Lighting appoints new President for Middle East and Turkey Goktug Gur to assume new role starting June 15


(MENAFNEditorial) June 13 2017: Dubai, UAE:Philips Lighting (Euronext Amsterdam ticker: LIGHT) has announced the appointment of Goktug Gur as President for the Middle East and Turkey region, effective June 15, 2017.

Currently Managing Director for Turkey and Middle East (excluding KSA), Goktug Gur will take on the new role, in addition to his current responsibilities. He will succeed Paolo Cervini who is moving to pursue further interests outside the company.

Announcing Goktug Gur's appointment Murali Sivaraman, President Growth Markets at Philips Lighting said: 'Goktug Gur has a proven record of delivering projects and successfully leading our business across a number of markets. Goktug, who brings more than two decades of leadership in the region, will drive Philips Lighting Middle East and Turkey into a new era of LED adaptation, digitally connected lighting for the Internet of Things and sustainable innovation. Goktug Gur has moved to Dubai as Managing Director for Turkey and Middle East (excluding KSA) in March 2017 after four years in the role of CEO for Philips Lighting Turkey. Gur brings vast knowledge of the project business and regional experience having spent over 20 years in leadership positions within the region. Goktug Gur graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Department of Electrical Engineering in Turkey before obtaining MBA degrees at the Marmara University, Turkey and the University of Maine, USA. Over his 23 year career, he has delivered several marketing and solution-oriented projects in the energy sector, working across the Mediterranean, Central Asia and Middle East regions including Turkey.
