Barebrush presents three art calendars of the month of June 2017 including 11 nominees for the Curators' Choice Awards. Guest curator, James Patrick Reid selected artworks from paintings, drawings, photographs and sculptures submitted by artists world-wide.When asked what he looks for in art, Mr. Reid answered:
'There is a quality which characterizes the great art of all epochs and styles, from the Chauvet caves to Mondrian. It is vital form, form that lives thanks to the integrity and completeness of its relationships of line, shape, and tone, and by virtue of the resonance of the volumes and the space. Great abstract art aims directly at this quality, and the masterpieces of representational art from antiquity to the present time impressively embody it. This is the standard by which I judge art.'
