The Sub Shop is a local brand restaurant that will be positioned as an international brand. The Sub Shop will be the answer to an increasing demand for snack-type meals, to be consumed by those in search of healthy, quality, well priced food served without delay. It has been designed to fill the gap that exists between the local fast food chains and the high end sit-down restaurants.

Our dedication will be to provide our customers with The Sub Shop Experience that is all about A Full Meal, Eating Well, Feeding Fresh, Quick Service and Great Pricing, all rolled into one package. We want to help those people with very busy schedule to take light and healthy food especially through sandwiches and salads which are both 100% nutritious and fulfilling.

The Sub Shop will sell salads, sandwiches, ethnic soups and beverages. We are poised to revolutionize the concept of 'light, healthy and fulfilling in Nigeria. On the side, we shall sell other merchandise that will enable our customer to extend The Sub Shop Experience beyond our outlet. These items are meat cheese and vegetable slicers; coffee roasters, grinders and brewers; tea brewers; blenders; grills; coffee beans; tea leaves; chipotle chili powder; salad dressings, dips and sauces.

Our most distinguishing factor is that our range of beverages are not served in any restaurants in Nigeria, thus making us the destination restaurant with hard-to-find beverages.

Agwu Kalu is the founder/owner and will deputize as the general manager. He has more than 30 years experience in management and finance gained mostly in the food and beverages industry. He is a food aficionado and connoisseur with a lot of international gastronomic experience. He was trained last year in Dubai on the management of quick service restaurants.

The advertising, marketing and business development activities will be handled by a consultant, Chido Obidiegwu, who has more than 22 years of marketing communications experience.

Management Managing/Manager Executive Officer AGWU KALU

I was born on September 10, 1955 at Ohafia, Abia State of Nigeria. I am married with 3 children.

I hold degrees in Statistics & Financial Management; PGD in Computer Science & Financial Policy and Certificate in Macro-economics. I have more than 30 years managerial experience gained mostly in the food and beverages industry, with a lot of international gastronomic experience. I was adjudged the 'Best Young Manager in Nigeria in 1987.

In October 2013, I applied for the franchise of SUBWAY, the global Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) chain with more than 42,000 outlets and was told that SUBWAY, unfortunately, was not disposed towards opening a restaurant in Nigeria for the time being. Highly disappointed, I immediately went to work to develop my own brand of a QSR - THE SUB SHOP.

Determined to get what it takes to run a QSR, I found a restaurant I paid AED 12,500 - the equivalent of US$3,500 for 1 week training in a Dubai Restaurant to learn about operating a quick service restaurant.
