(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISTANBUL, May 28 (KUNA) -- Turkey announced the killing 13 militants of the Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) in an air raid on the party's locations in northern Iraq's Avasin-Basyan region early Sunday.
The 13 militants were planning to execute terrorist attacks in Turkey, the Turkish army said in a statement.
It added that seven of PKK's locations were also destroyed in the operation.
The Turkish forces had been launching military operations against PKK in southeastern Turkey and northern Iraq, in response to attacks carried by the group targeting citizens and security personnel inside the country. (end) ta.ag
