BMW AG to continue production halt in Germany, China

(MENAFN) German giant automaker BMW AG will continue halting production in Germany to China and S. Africa, while the automaker is struggling from the shortage of steering parts.

Shenyang and Rosslyn factories will stop production for a day, whereas its plant in Leipzig in Germany will be closed partially.

According to magazine Focus, it reported that the Leipzig site was closed since last Friday, and another plant in Munich was affected, due to an Italian car-parts supplier which did not make the required deliveries.

Overall, the giant carmaker's profitability declined in Q1, as a production lineup led the company to offer incentives to offer more jobs.
