(MENAFN) U.S.-based CBT Architects has been chosen the lead designer to master plan Hudayriat Island, as proclaimed the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC).
Additionally, the 3.000-hectare island is located southwest of Abu Dhabi, while the land would be expanded to the south and cut through by canals.
In 2008, UAE-based consulting firm Dar Al Omran submitted a plan for the project as part of a design competition, which was estimated at USD1.7tr.
Moreover, the mixed-use development will involve a 30 kilometer waterfront as well as a public shoreline and a green mobility network.
