Kuwait- British Airways cancels flights from Heathrow, Gatwick due to IT crash

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) LONDON, May 27 (KUNA) -- British Airways has cancelled all flights from the airports of Heathrow and Gatwick until 18:00 BST owing to computer problems.

A "major IT system failure is causing very severe disruption to our flight operations worldwide", the airline said in a statement Saturday. It apologized for the "global system outage" saying it was "working to resolve the problem." The trouble means parts of BA's website are unavailable and some travelers claimed they could not check in on the mobile app.

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) said that flights from many European cities bound to London could not leave since the early morning. (end) mrn.msa
